The Actual Rescue
Slowly, the fox approached the boat. It was too weak to make the leap from the iceberg to the boat, though. Allen leaned out and carefully picked the poor animal up, bringing it over to the boat. At last, they had the fox with them.
It still wasn’t safe though. The freezing wind ruffled the creature’s wet fur and while Allan and Cliff were ready with towels to dry and warm the fox, they were worried that it might attack them. How long would the fragile trust of a wild animal last out here on the high seas? They needed to find out.
